​Adopt-a-Plot

Have you wished for a backyard Garden but have no place to put it? Do you wonder about the concept of square foot gardening? Are you looking for a fun spring project? 

Well, Hanson Park Conservancy has a treat for you!

Hanson Park Conservancy has three 4 x 4 plots available and waiting to be “adopted!” These micro farms are close to a water source and will require your new soil and seed. Each adoptee will be completely responsible for planting, tending and harvesting their “own” plot of land from spring to fall. Think of the wonderful bounty you could grow and the peace and serenity you could gain from having your hands in the earth! 

Sound good to you? We knew it would, so we are holding an essay contest to determine the lucky recipients of this great opportunity. Let us know who you are and how you are going to use the land. Will it be a family project? Will you plant flowers, herbs, vegetables? How will you be sure to tend to your micro farm? Make it personal, let us know why you’d love to be the winner.
